Overview

The Mobile GIS FireSurvey™ software combines the power of GPS and GIS in an easy-to-use, handheld application. FireSurvey™ collects the GPS coordinates for driveways and structures in your community, and records defensibility characteristics at each structure location.

On the go

  • Record precise locations and water draft sources with GPS technology
  • Store data directly into the GIS application, eliminating paperwork
  • Easy to use interface

In the office

  • Download to laptop or desktop for easy mapping and reporting
  • Defensibility scores are automatically calculated for each structure
  • Compatible with ArcGIS

In your community

  • Educate homeowners regarding fire risk
  • Create a Community Wildfire Plan

FireSurvey™ is composed of four different surveys, listed below. Click on a survey to see its description.

Fire Risk Survey

Fire Risk is used to assess a structure's risk level prior to wildfire danger. It is based on the NFPA 299 Wildfire Hazard Severity Form.

Fire Triage Survey

Fire Triage is used to collect a detailed summary of a structure's defensibility level during a high-level wildfire risk.

Quick Triage Survey

Quick Triage is a condensed version of Fire Triage, designed for use during an active wildfire when a detailed inspection is too time-consuming.

Draft Source Survey

Draft Source is used to collect the location and condition of various types of draft water sources.
